Our world premiere at the BlackStar Film Festival in Philadelphia was a celebration to remember! Finding Your Laughter received the Jury’s Honorable Mention for Best Documentary, followed by a lively Q&A and special festival appearances featuring Arlieta and the film’s incredible team.

Last weekend, Arlieta joined West Side Wellness’ Mental Health Meets Hip-Hop event in Chicago as a panelist, sharing insights on the mental health challenges of caregiving through storytelling, healing, and laughter.

We’re excited to partner with Angel Baginske, creator of Heartfelt Surprise Boxes, to celebrate and support caregivers with thoughtful gift bundles. At each festival, Arlieta and Brittany select a caregiver to receive a basket—congratulations to our BlackStar winner, Sabrina Stewart!

We WON PitchBLACK! Black Public Media awarded us $150K towards post-production. We’re so grateful to have this support and to have made a ton of amazing connections at the pitch forum.

Arlieta was recognized for her work in the dementia/Alzheimer’s care community.

In July, Arlieta presented her workshop at the brand new Sisters in Cinema space in South Shore, Chicago.
